Introduction

The Department of Microbiology was established in 2022 at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad. Department of Microbiology offers the bachelor degrees program of B.S 4 year in Microbiology. All the degrees are recognized by HEC, accepted nationally and internationally. The aim of the department is to produce a highly trained human resource vital to the market demands in the field of Microbiology and its specialization fields and to develop close ties with industry and the biomedical scientific community, and strives to rank within the most prestigious institutions worldwide. The department has all basic facilities of teaching such as class rooms, research, library and experimental field. The learning process at the department is a blend of lectures and practical demonstrations, presentations, assignments, group tasks, research projects, study tours, internships in various pathological laboratories, industries etc. independent studies in the library and the use of computers.

We aim to produce microbiologists of excellent caliber, who have developed good technical, research, and teaching skills in fields of clinical microbiology, industrial microbiology, food microbiology, environmental microbiology, immunology molecular biology, genetics and biotechnology, and at the same time being sensitive to the needs of the society and environment while practicing ethical code of conduct.
